Printing High Resolution Imagery

Sometimes when you try to print high-resolution Valtus imagery on larger paper sizes (D, E, or larger), we recommend you clear the option to print high resolution images, configure all of the print options, and then select the option to use high resolution images, and immediately print the job.

To print high resolution imagery

  1. Using Windows Control Panel, select the desired printer and click Properties, and ensure that the properties are set as desired for the Valtus high-resolution printing including paper orientation, paper size, and so on.
  1. Using the AccuMap Layer Legend in the Map window, clear any map layers that aren't required in the printed map.
  2. Turn off visibility of the Air Photo layer in the AccuMap Layer Legend.
  3. Using the AccuMap Print Preview dialog box, configure all map elements available from the Print Setup: Components pane with the exception of the Use high resolution images option, which appears when the Map component is selected.

Ensure the Use high resolution images option is cleared before configuring other map elements.

  1. Activate visibility of the Air Photo layer in the AccuMap Layer Legend.
  2. Enable the Use high resolution images option and output the map.

If a red X appears in the Print Preview dialog box even after all of the steps above are followed, close the Print Preview dialog box being sure to save all of the settings, and then close and relaunch AccuMap and print the map. This will free up random access memory by saving the desired settings to your hard disk. If the red X still appears, change the paper size to a standard size.
